The Office Party D.C.

Working for yourself has a number of perks: flexible hours and a great boss. However, one thing you may miss out on is the company holiday party. The ladies of Studio Deux Digital, LLC provided a solution to this problem. Some 200 bloggers, photographers, freelancers and other creatives filled The Loft at 600 F in Washington D.C. this past Sunday afternoon.

The founding duo of Studio Deux, Ashlee Laughlin and Tearra High, came up with the brilliant idea to bring a number of D.C locals, who don’t necessarily work a 9 to 5, an opportunity to connect. With the help of event planning team, Elle Nicole Events, they crafted the premier event, The Office Party DC.

For many entrepreneurs, there is no water cooler to congregate around with your colleagues. The Office Party DC was a chic meet-up for creatives along the beltway. The sophisticated loft-style venue was an appropriate choice. The open atmosphere allowed for attendees to move freely through the crowd chatting and chewing on delectable dishes from the catering company, Get Plated.

As if being around liked-minded individuals wasn’t motivating enough, throughout the event were beautifully placed encouraging quotes (pictured on the left). All the men and women in attendance, whether amateurs or veterans, were doing their thing and proud to share it with you. I had the pleasure of meeting media entrepreneurs such as, Stacey Ferguson, blogger and CEO of BeBlogalicous, who has been in the blogging and social media business for over 8 years. Also, I met Alonna Gordon, an aspiring blogger, who attended the event seeking inspiration.

There was a little bit of something there for every guest, whether rolling solo or with your girls. There for a good time: the eclectic sounds of the DJ and open bar took care of that. There to network: most attendees had their business cards in tow and there was plenty of signage to let you know what businesses collaborated with Studio II for the event.

Every guest walked away with an official The Office Party DC swag tote, at least one new Instagram follower, and their money’s worth. Studio Deux set the tone for 2017. I look forward to what else these ladies have in store.
